Brain Health on the Brain…

This #givingtuesday I have brain health on my brain…🌟🌟🌟

Join me for a donation guided Yoga Nidra Meditation this Friday, December 3 from 1:15-1:45 pm EST. 100% of the proceeds of class to benefit research funds for The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement.

Yoga Nidra is a deeply relaxing form of meditation placing the participant in the liminal space between consciousness and sleeping. All that is required is a quiet place for you to rest, either seated or laying down.

Two proven components of a brain healthy lifestyle are meditation and sleep. I love Yoga Nidra because it is a 2-for-1! What can I say, I appreciate efficiency. 🙃

I personally have lost two grandmothers to Dementia. Many years ago I used to believe there was nothing that could be done but wait for my time. I reaaaaalllly don’t like that approach or attitude. So of course I embarked to learn as much as possible about lifestyle changes that could reduce risk of brain disease. My good friend Annie Fenn had just launched Brain Health Kitchen and completely changed my perspective. She taught me that food, exercise, sleep, meditation, community, and learning new things are some of the factors that have the potential to significantly reduce risk of Alzheimers and Dementia. Annie instantly empowered me to take better care of my brain. 🙏

I am young, under 40. I do not fit the profile of most people concerned about brain health. The most important thing I learned is that similar to a savings account, beginning early matters. We ALL need to bring the brain into our wellness sphere. It needs our attention, work, and most importantly, money to support research.
