“Purple Smoothie” Recipe

When I ask my 5-year-old daughter what kind of smoothie she would like, she simply responds with a color :) That works for me, because then she doesn’t focus on all the goodness I sneak into it when she turns her back! She chooses to focus on a joyful and often overlooked part of eating: color. Smoothies became a staple for our little energizer bunny who still has difficulty sitting still long enough to eat. This recipe is packed with protein, fat, greens, and fruits to support her brain and sustain energy without creating a blood sugar rollercoaster.

“Purple Smoothie”
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup kale or spinach leaves
2 T seeds- any- Flax, Chia, Hemp
1 frozen banana
2 pitted dates
2 cups plant based milk
2 T almond butter
4 cubes ice

Blend on HIGH 1 Minute.

Tip from my best customer: *Best enjoyed in a fancy glass with a rainbow metal straw.

2-3 servings

Note: There is a fine line with greens- too much and you will have a VERY visually unappealing and bitter brown smoothie.
